Post Date:12/31/2017 1:30 PM
On Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 2:27 PM an officer was investigating a call for service at the Franklin Middle School when he was alerted to a motor vehicle crash in the area of Hamilton Street and Frederick Street.  Upon arrival, he discovered a two car crash involving a 2001 Honda Civic and a 2009 Dodge Box Truck.

The initial investigation revealed the Dodge Truck, operated by Craig Rogers 2nd, 27 years old of Eatontown, was traveling westbound in the inner lane on Hamilton Street at the time of the collision.  The Honda was being operated on Frederick Street by Jahmir Ingram, 19 years old of Somerset.  The collision occurred as the Honda entered the intersection of Frederick and Hamilton Streets.  There was a 17 year old male passenger from Somerset in the car with Ingram at the time of the crash.  The juvenile suffered serious head injuries and was transported to a local trauma center by EMS Personnel.  Ingram suffered several non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local area hospital for treatment.  Rogers was uninjured in the crash.

Personnel from the Franklin Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Team responded to the scene.  The roadway was closed for approximately 5 hours during the investigation and subsequent clean up.    The investigation into the collision is ongoing and no charges have been filed at this time.   Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Officer James Raics at 732-873-5533 extension 3177.
