The Somerset County Board of County Commissioners is pleased to offer residents a free document-shredding program at various locations around the county.

2021 Operation Secure Shred program dates and locations:  Operation Secure Shred Schedule 2021

Residents who live in Somerset County can have personal documents shredded in any of the hosted Operation Secure Shredding locations throughout the year. The events are hosted by various municipalities, with assistance from Somerset County.  

  • Documents are commercially shredded safely, privately, and properly by trained, licensed, and bonded document destruction specialists.
  • Staples and paperclips do not have to be removed. 
  • Residents can bring documents in up to six boxes, containers, or bags per visit. 
  • Proof of residency is required (current driver's license, valid lease, tax bill or any other bill with a Somerset County address).

No businesses allowedNo commercial vehicles allowed.
