Intersection Improvements to Easton Avenue (CR 527) and DeMott Lane
Public Information Center Notice
Somerset County, in cooperation with the Township of Franklin, the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, and the Federal Highway Administration, will be hosting a Public Information Center to inform local residents, officials, businesses and the general public of the status of improvements to the Easton Avenue (CR 527) and Demott Lane intersection in Franklin Township. This project will include the reconstruction of the traffic signal equipment, curb, sidewalk, pavement, and median barrierin the vicinity of the intersection. Additionally, the existing multiuse path along Easton Avenue will be reconstructed from Willow Road to the Easton Avenue jughandle/Taco Bell Driveway. The project is currently in the design phase and will be funded for construction with FHWA's Highway Safety Improvement Program Funds.
The purpose of this meeting is to inform the public of the project’s purpose and need, proposed design, progress to date and the federal process/requirements for construction. This meeting will be held inperson on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from 4:30 to 7:00 PM. Members of the public will be able to speak one-on-one with the County’s engineers and consultant representatives anytime between these meeting hours to ask questions and provide comments. This meeting is being conducted in conformance with Federal and State regulations and is open to all members of the public.
