Anyone with information about crimes, suspicious activity or traffic collisions can call (732) 873-PASS (7277). This system will allow people to provide the police with information anonymously 24 hours a day. The phone line will go to a voice mailbox that will be checked by the Investigative Division Commander. As information is “passed along” to the police, it will be assigned to the appropriate division within the department for follow-up.
Messages will be checked daily, but this system will not immediately notify police of crimes in progress. In the event that a resident observes a crime in progress, they are urged to report the incident immediately to the police by calling 9-1-1.
The Director of Public Safety hopes that this “tips” line will give residents who wish to remain anonymous a venue to “pass along” valuable information that can assist the police in solving crimes.
