Qigong, pronounced "chi gong", was developed in China thousand of years ago as part of traditional Chinese medicine. Qi means energy and Gong means work. So, energy work. It involves using exercises to optimize energy within the body, mind and spirit with the goal of improving and maintaining health and well-being. The first half of the class will be breath work, stretches and activating Qi in the body. The second half of class will be focusing on flowing movements which are physically easier to practice than yoga. You can stand the entire time or be seated. The final 10 minutes will be seated for meditation and relaxation. Registration opens in person and online at 8:30am on March 22.
