Voter Registration

You must be a citizen of the United States; you must be 18 years of age on or before the day of the election & you must be a resident of your present address for at least 30 days before the election. Voter Registration Forms can be printed from the Township’s website: www.franklintwpnj.org and must be received by the Township Clerk’s Office or the Somerset County Board of Elections 21 days prior to Election Day.

Voting by Mail-In Ballot

You may vote by Mail-In-Ballot for any election. You do not need a reason. You must apply for a mail-in ballot by completing a Mail-In Ballot Application. Application Forms can also be obtained from the Somerset County Clerk’s Office and the Franklin Township’s Clerk Office. Mail-In Ballots are to be mailed to the County Clerk’s Office postmarked by June 4, 2024 or placed in Drop Box at the Municipal Building by 8:00 p.m. on June 4, 2024. The County Clerk cannot accept faxes or electronic copies, as an original signature is required. You may apply in person at the County Clerk’s office up to 3:00 p.m. on the day before the election.

Early Voting

Early Voting takes place from Wednesday, May 29, 2024 through Sunday, June 2, 2024 at the Community/Senior Center located at 505 DeMott Lane, Somerset, NJ. Polls are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday to Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Anyone in Somerset County may vote at this polling location during this time period.

Drop Box

There is a Drop Box for Mail-In Ballots for all Somerset County municipalities located in front of the Municipal Building. The box will open approximately a month before Election Day and will remain open until 8:00 p.m. on June 4, 2024
