Mission Statement:

The mission of the Franklin Township Police Department is to protect and enhance the quality of life via a Community Policing Operational Philosophy, through a partnership with the community, and to promote a safe and secure environment, free from crime and the fear of crime, for all who live, work or visit our community.

Members of the Department are dedicated to accomplishing this mission by maintaining public peace and order through fair, impartial enforcement of the law, fostering an environment of cooperation and trust within our organization and the community, and challenging the future with a spirit of optimism and innovation.

Franklin Township Community Relations Bureau Biking with Cops Program

2024 program runs on selected Tuesdays from June to September at 5:00 PM, weather permitting.

Tuesdays in the Summer of 2024:

  • June 25
  • July 9
  • July 23
  • August 13
  • August 27
  • September 3
  • September 17

The FTPD Biking with Cops program is for any High School aged child or older that knows how to ride a bicycle. You must bring your own bicycle. Recommended bicycles are mountain bikes that have the ability to change gears. 

  • 5:00 - 6:00 PM weather permitting
  • Location will be emailed to registered participants each week.
  • Distance: Range from 3 miles to 7.5 miles
  • All participants are required to have a helmet and plenty of water.
  • You can be of any skill level, but must know how to ride a bicycle.
  • Most of the rides will be on the tow path (dirt road) or through Colonial Park.
