Mission Statement:

The mission of the Franklin Township Police Department is to protect and enhance the quality of life via a Community Policing Operational Philosophy, through a partnership with the community, and to promote a safe and secure environment, free from crime and the fear of crime, for all who live, work or visit our community.

Members of the Department are dedicated to accomplishing this mission by maintaining public peace and order through fair, impartial enforcement of the law, fostering an environment of cooperation and trust within our organization and the community, and challenging the future with a spirit of optimism and innovation.

National Night out for Tuesday, August 6th is cancelled due to the forecast inclement weather.

National Night Out (NNO) is a township wide event to bring together law enforcement and citizens while promoting awareness, safety, and neighborhood unity through games, activities and music. Please come out and enjoy a night with your Franklin Community.  We will be shutting down the municipal complex, 475 DeMott Lane, Somerset on Tuesday, August 6th from 6pm-8:30pm to enjoy:

There will be a police motorcycle and cars, fire trucks, ambulance, the National Guard, and construction equipment for the kids to explore.

We will have Bello Ciao Pizza Truck and for a $2.00 donation to the Franklin Food Bank, the 'Cooking with Cops'  students will be making hot dogs and chicken wings!  Finally, finish the night off with a visit to the ice cream truck!

Let's make it a night to remember!!!

The Franklin Township Police is offering Public Safety Building tours!  You must sign up and a limited amount will be allowed in each session. We are offering 5 sessions with limited visitors in each session (6PM, 6:30PM, 7PM, 7:30PM, & 8PM). Parking available in the lot next to the Gazebo, Sampson G Smith School, & BOE building (Amwell & Charles St). Handicap and VIP parking is located behind the gas pumps in the Municipal Complex.

In the event of inclement weather the event will not be rescheduled.
