Somerset County 4-H’ers Gear up for Fair
For 69 years, 4-H members, their leaders and families have educated and entertained thousands of visitors at their free, family friendly event. On August 10, 11, 12 from 10 am to 10 pm, at North Branch Park 4-H Fairgrounds on Milltown Road in Bridgewater, they’ll be back again with dairy and beef cows, sheep and goats. For the first time in decades, 4-H’ers will exhibit pigs. Mechanical Science Clubs are preparing their go karts, model trains, planes, rockets and RC cars for competitions around their tracks and in the air. In the Arts and Science Tent you will find exhibits of cooking and sewing, fine arts, film-making and steampunk, magic, drama, twirling and double dutch. Beekeeping, therapy pets, scale models, entomology, archery, photography and board and computer games are also on display. The Horse and Dog Club members will be showing all three days. Seeing Eye puppies, poultry, rabbits and small animals are waiting for visitors. Free entertainment, amateur and professional, is happening at three different venues, all day, every day. There is something for everyone at the Somerset County 4-H Fair.
For more information, contact the 4-H Office at 908-526-6644. Free shuttle-buses from Raritan Valley community college are available all day.
