Franklin Township is proud of its farming heritage. The town has preserved over 1,100 acres of farmland in private ownership, in addition to state- and township- owned open space which is farmed, and many additional smaller farms Over twenty of these farms sell directly to the public. Franklin Township encourages its residents to “Buy Local”, buy farm products from local producers, helping them continue to farm and aiding the local economy.
