The mission of the Franklin Township Police Department is to protect and enhance the quality of life via a Community Policing Operational Philosophy, through a partnership with the community, and to promote a safe and secure environment, free from crime and the fear of crime, for all who live, work or visit our community.

Members of the Department are dedicated to accomplishing this mission by maintaining public peace and order through fair, impartial enforcement of the law, fostering an environment of cooperation and trust within our organization and the community, and challenging the future with a spirit of optimism and innovation.

    On November 10, 2015 at 11:01 PM the Franklin Township Police Department received a 9-1-1 call reporting a structure fire on Clinton Street in the Somerset section of the Township.

    On Sunday, November 08, 2015 at 2:31 PM the Franklin Township Police Department was notified by Somerset County Communications of a fire alarm at Veeco, 394 Elizabeth Avenue in the Somerset Section of the Township. Additional information was obtained that there was a chemical fire within the building.

    On October 29, 2015 at 7:19 AM the Franklin Township Police Department received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting a multi-vehicle crash on Easton Avenue in the area of Lakeside Drive. Upon arrival officers discovered a 6 car motor vehicle crash including one tractor trailer.
