PUBLIC SAFETY CADET UNIT #1808

The Cadet Program mentors’ young adults to serve their community by providing knowledge, skills, and practical experiences through education and training delivered by public safety professionals that build character, physical fitness and respect for the rule of law.

Membership is open to young adults 14-20 years of age, who are interested in a career in law enforcement or other public safety professions.

Program begins October 7, 2021

New applicants are interviewed periodically throughout the year. If you have met the program requirements you will be contacted. Generally, new applicants begin in the months of January and September.

The application and entrance essay is to be completed by the applicant only. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. To begin the application process, click here.

A copy of your most recent school report card and/or your most recent school transcript must be submitted with your application, along with a copy of your birth certificate.

The Franklin Township Public Safety Cadet Unit requires all applicants possess and maintain a G.P.A. of 2.0 for participation and be at least 14 years of age (having completed 8th grade) but no older than 17 at the time of acceptance.

The confidential background information sheet must be completed by an individual of your choice who is over the age of 18 and does not reside in your home. Your application is not complete without it.

If you are currently employed, the employment record is to be filled out by a representative of your employer. The form needs to be submitted to complete for your application to be complete.
