The mission of the Franklin Township Police Department is to protect and enhance the quality of life via a Community Policing Operational Philosophy, through a partnership with the community, and to promote a safe and secure environment, free from crime and the fear of crime, for all who live, work or visit our community.

Members of the Department are dedicated to accomplishing this mission by maintaining public peace and order through fair, impartial enforcement of the law, fostering an environment of cooperation and trust within our organization and the community, and challenging the future with a spirit of optimism and innovation.

 Yolanda Flowers, 38, of Baier Ave in Somerset was arrested on an active warrant that was issued by the New Brunswick Municipal Court. She was released after posting $750 bail.  Note: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

 John Reece, 27, of DeKalb Street in Somerset was arrested on an outstanding warrant from the Franklin Township Municipal Court.  He was released after posting $500 bail.   Note: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

 

Bryan Flores, 26, of Hawthorne Drive in Somerset was arrested on an outstanding warrant from the Bridgewater Municipal Court.  He was released after posting $463 bail.   Note: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

 

Sometime between 12:00 PM and 6:25 PM an unknown suspect took a package off the step of a residence on Canterbury Circle.  The package contained clothing valued at $1,100.

Officers from the Franklin Township Police Department’s Crime Suppression Unit observed a 2002 Nissan Altima travelling erratically on Route 27.  After conducting a motor vehicle stop, they made contact with the driver Rishi Buttan, 18, of Beech Street in Edison.  Also in the vehicle were Brayan Rivera-Quintanilla, 18 of Somerset Street in Somerset, and Franklin Ballinas, 19 of Somerset Street in New Brunswick.  An open container of vodka was found in the driver’s compartment of the car.  Additional investigation revealed they were in possession of  suspect marijuana and paraphernalia.  All three were placed under arrest and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.  In addition, Buttan was issued summonses for careless driving, improperly maintaining lamps and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle.  .  Note: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

 Sometime between 10/22 and 10/29 an unknown suspect entered a construction site on Cedar Grove Lane and took 30 feet of cable wire valued at $400.

 Arpell Walton, 29 of Huntington Ave in North Plainfield was arrested on warrants from various jurisdictions with bail totaling $8,987.  He was transported to the Middlesex County Jail.   Note: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Nicholas McNamee, 33, of Jermak Drive in Carteret was arrested on an outstanding warrant from the Union Township Municipal Court.  He was released after posting $500 Bail.  Note: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

 Sometime in the overnight hours unknown suspects threw eggs at a vehicle parked on Wycombe Place causing small scratches on the bumper. 

 At 8:07 PM an unknown suspect(s) threw a pumpkin through the window of a residence on Bennington Parkway.

 Between the hours of 5:30 PM and 8:00 PM clothing was stolen from a dryer located at the Superwash located at 1760 Easton Avenue.

 

11/1

 Sometime between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM the center console of 2012 Mercury 350 was damaged by an unknown suspect while it was parked at 1714 Easton Avenue.

 Sherry Steele, 34, of Yarnell Ave of Milltown was found to have a $2000 warrant from the New Brunswick Municipal Court while on a motor vehicle stop.  She was arrested and processed without incident.  She was released after posting bail.  Note: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

 

 

 

 

11/2

 During the overnight hours an unknown suspect(s) entered Amigo Taxi by damaging the front door.  A total of $2500 in cash was taken.

A pair of Ray Band Sun Glasses and $40 in cash was taken from an unlocked vehicle parked on Camner Ave.  

 

11/3

 Sometime in the afternoon hours on 11/2 an unknown suspect attempted to kick in the back door of an apartment on Hempstead Dr.  No entry was made into the apartment.

 Sometime between 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM two packages were taken from the porch of a residence on Parkside Street.  The packages contained two Apple iPhone 6S cell phones valued at $600 each.

 Rafael Martinez-Sanchez was arrested on an outstanding warrant from the North Brunswick Municipal Court following a motor vehicle stop.  He was released after posting $500 bail.  Note: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
